The perfect gun for spearfishing Tautog, Scup, Black Seabass, Flounder, Striper (Striped Bass) Pollock and more. Rob Allen's "Cobia" is a single-band, easy-to-load speargun making it perfect for beginners learning spearfishing, and powerful enough to shoot larger fish for intermediate and experts.

This gun is small enough to be easily maneuvered in low visibility conditions that are common in the Northeast. A gun that is too long is hard to use in murky conditions because it may extend beyond your line of sight, or be slow to move in the water.

This speargun has one single band, making loading easier, and allows you to shoot into rocks with less likelihood of bending or breaking the shaft. Since Tautog, Flounder, and Black Seabass are often in and around rocks, this makes spearfishing with a single band better.

This speargun comes ready to shoot, complete with a shaft and flopper tip.

This is the best speargun for spearfishing in:

  • Rhode Island
  • Massachusetts
  • Connecticut
  • Maine
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York

If you are just getting started spearfishing, we recommend purchasing a model that is between 50 and 80 centimeters, and if you want to purchase an extra shaft, it should be 40cm longer than the gun.

Best spear fishing vendor out there

HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. I ordered my first gun and set of gear from northern spear fishing and I could not be more impressed. Max personally reached out to me on numerous occasions to make sure I was confident in my purchases and guide me along the way as a beginner. The items were promptly delivered and are clearly of high quality. Whether you’re new to spear fishing, or a seasoned veteran, this is the place to get your gear!

Gets me dinner everytime!

I've always used larger 100cm spearguns. But this gun is perfect for Rhode Island. I got the 60cm, and it's like a little sniper rifle up there. Super easy to maneuver, and I hike in often and it's light and doesn't get snagged on branches. Freaking love this thing.
